Chairman’s Message
Welcome to the new season and new programme of our photographic club. We have a full committee and other helpers who are working hard to bring you plenty of opportunities to look at and discuss pictures and to widen your experience of photography.
There are talks by club members and by outside speakers, gallery evenings and discussion evenings, meetings with other clubs and a wide range of competitions. We hope that everyone will take photographs and share them with the club.
A photographic club is a way to share your pictures. By looking at other peoples work you are able to get new ideas for places to go, subjects, methods, equipment, ways to show photographs and standards.
Most importantly it is an enjoyable reason to take pictures. You can ask how pictures have been taken and learn new techniques. Do take advantage of the informal part of our meetings (start , end & coffee break) to ask for help, give help and to talk to people who take the sort of pictures that interest you.
During the summer, coach trips supported by Pam Graystone have been especially successful in providing opportunities to see other people at work and to take pictures. We thank her for this generous support. These meetings have been most enjoyable and I’m sure we will see the results from them during the winter. Please go out and enjoy taking pictures, experimenting with style and methods giving results that you can share with us all. Thank you, Edwina Beaumont.
